Purpose

To delve into the work of author Eric Carle through the elaboration of a collage, which is the technique used by the author to illustrate his books.

Description

Pre-kindergarten students visited the Innovation Center to learn more about the work of Eric Carle and his illustration technique. In the Makerspace all the materials were available for them to understand what a collage is, and how to make their own collage with natural materials such as leaves from different trees.

Results and Impact Generated

The students had a sensory, artistic and creative experience from which they affirmed their knowledge of the author, the life cycle of a butterfly, and the differences between illustrator and writer.
