Purpose & Description

Cultivate the importance of the tradition of oral narratives and storytelling, from the rescue of stories of the Caribbean and slavery narrated by an external ally that will provoke the students to expand their knowledge and above all the different perspectives of past and present slavery.

As part of storytelling month and in an interdisciplinary way with the seventh grade social studies class, a representative of the Afro community was invited to give a talk about the role of slavery in the economy and the new forms of slavery behind the garment industry.
