OSMOSIS LAB: HOW CELLS DRINK WATER?

AIS Innovation Center

Biology Lab - Second Floor

Overview

7th graders performed an experiment to demonstrate how osmosis works in plant cells. We used potatoes, salt as solute and water as solvent and after setting the experiment they wrote hypothesis to be test after finishing.

Purpose & Description

To demonstrate how is the flow of water molecules (osmosis) in hypertonic and hypotonic solutions.

7th graders performed an experiment to demonstrate how osmosis works in plant cells. We used potatoes, salt as solute and water as solvent and after setting the experiment they wrote hypothesis to be test after finishing. Following the scientific method, students completed a lab report explaining their results and accepting/refuting their own hypothesis.
